OT: I think a lot of people are susceptible to being taken in buy people like this if they are in a vulnerable state. I would think knowing the signs of indoctrination would certainly help you stay out of a cult.

This happened a few times here in the states..a guy named David Koresh was convinced that he was Jesus and then formed a bit cult and his house was burned down.

Then again in 97 with Heaven's Gate who believe that a spaceship would come down in the form of a comet and take them away..this group defined the phrase of "don't drink the Kool-Aid"
